Games | Starbound – Terraria Meets Stardew Valley and Minecraft

Today I want to give a special shoutout to this little indie game which has taken over my life for the last several days.

To clarify, this isn’t a review. To clarify, Annie usually doesn’t talk video game chat on the blog. But there are some things that are just too good and must be shared with the world, however small they–both the good and the world–may be.

Starbound is basically Space Terraria. If you haven’t played that, then it’s kinda like a if Minecraft and Stardew Valley had a space-baby.

Sounds awesome, right? Beyond chill and full of wholesome game-goodness?

It is, oh it is.

Like the games I mentioned above, you really get to choose how to spend your time. You can battle it out against fearsome monsters, go spelunking in dank caves to discover ancient ruins, create a farm and a quaint little house using building blocks or follow the actual campaign of the story and level up along the way.

And each of those things you can do on differentย planets. Imagine Stardew but with different planets. Imagine Minecraft.

It’s expansive. And it feels like the possibilities are truly endless. Not to mention the sound design is flawless and the everything from the animation to little secrets tucked away are beyond charming. You can catch the soundtrack on Spotify.

Plus it’s multiplayer.

Anywhoozels, more to come since I’m officially on furlough with my job. Stay safe out there and live up quarantine with games and anime, my lovely space cadets!
